MM Kit

The Mifepristone + Misoprostol Kit (MM Kit) is a combination medication designed to safely and effectively terminate an early pregnancy (up to 9 weeks or 63 days from the first day of the last menstrual period). This kit includes two active pharmaceutical ingredients: Mifepristone and Misoprostol, which work in synergy to facilitate medical abortion.

Composition:

1. Mifepristone (200 mg): A synthetic steroid that acts as an anti-progestin. It blocks the action of progesterone, a hormone essential for maintaining pregnancy. This action leads to the detachment of the gestational sac from the uterine lining.
2. Misoprostol (200 mcg per tablet): A prostaglandin E1 analog that induces uterine contractions and cervical dilation, aiding in the expulsion of pregnancy tissues.

How It Works:

• Step 1: Mifepristone is taken orally as the first step. It halts the progression of the pregnancy by cutting off the hormonal support.
• Step 2: After 24-48 hours, Misoprostol is administered orally, sublingually, or vaginally as directed. It triggers uterine contractions, facilitating the expulsion of pregnancy tissues.
