Cildip 10 is a prescription medication containing Cilnidipine, a calcium channel blocker (CCB) that belongs to the dihydropyridine group. Each tablet of Cildip 10 is formulated with 10 mg of Cilnidipine as the active ingredient, designed to effectively manage hypertension (high blood pressure) and protect cardiovascular health.

Mechanism of Action:
Cilnidipine is a dual-action calcium channel blocker. It works by inhibiting the influx of calcium ions into both L-type and N-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscles and nerve endings. This dual blockade leads to vasodilation (widening of blood vessels) and relaxation of vascular smooth muscles, reducing peripheral resistance and lowering blood pressure. The N-type channel blockade also helps reduce sympathetic nervous system activity, minimizing stress-related increases in heart rate and blood pressure.1
